This is a phenomenal game, but unfortunately it seems like it has several bugs that make it almost unplayable. the one that I come across the most is that I'd like to use a gamepad to play it, but whenever I press b the game minimizes. unfortunately, pressing b is kind of important. would be happy to give this game a higher rating if it got a few updates to resolve these kinds of issues.

this game is a hidden gem, the pixel art is amazing to look at. the combat is punishing but addictive, and requires your full attention to what is going on. hyper light drifter specializes in show don't tell, it almost never tells you what's going on, leaving you to make connections and context cluse. the game likes to hide things from wether that be a heal or a upgrade you have to explore to find something. be careful when loading out of the game for it may reset sometimes when you leave.

One of my favorite games! But it's been out for a while and they still haven't fixed the controller issue. on Backbone and PS5 controllers, the B (or circle) button causes the game to minimize. I assume this happens with every kind of controller, and it needs fixing. the last review to comment on this was 8 months ago.
